Exciting Adventure at Cooper Lake State Park This Saturday!
Hey everyone!
I’m thrilled to announce that we’re heading to Cooper Lake State Park this Saturday for a fun-filled day of hiking and a picnic! 🌳🥾🍗
Plan for the Day:
- Meeting Time: 7:30 AM
- Meeting Point: at Ruben´s for those that would like to do car pooling
- Destination: Cooper Lake State Park
Hiking Plan:
We’ll be exploring some of the beautiful trails at Cooper Lake State Park. Our goal is to cover around 5-8 miles, so we can enjoy a good hike and take in the stunning scenery. Here are a few trail options:
- Coyote Run Trail (4.6 miles): This trail offers a moderate hike through diverse landscapes, including woodlands and lakeside views. Keep an eye out for white-tailed deer and various bird species.
- South Sulphur Trail (3.2 miles): A slightly shorter trail that winds through the park’s southern section, offering picturesque views of the lake and opportunities to spot armadillos and raccoons.
- Doctors Creek Trail (2.5 miles): Perfect for a leisurely hike, this trail takes you through lush forests and along the creek, where you might see beavers and a variety of waterfowl1.
We’ll decide on the exact route on the day, depending on everyone’s preferences and energy levels.
Wildlife to Watch For:
- White-tailed deer
- Armadillos
- Raccoons
- Beavers
- Various bird species, including herons and egrets
Picnic Plan:
After our hike, we’ll have a relaxing picnic. We’ll bring charcoal and a grill to cook up some delicious meat or chicken – we’ll decide on the specifics later. Feel free to bring your favorite picnic snacks and drinks!
Return Time:
We’ll aim to head back to Dallas around 2-3 PM, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the park and each other’s company.
Looking forward to a fantastic day outdoors with all of you! Don’t forget to bring your hiking boots, water, and a sense of adventure. See you on Saturday!
